Dr. Vangie has established herself in the field of psychology and education by practicing school psychology in CA brick and mortar, virtual, traditional and charter schools as both a school psychologist and as a K-12 administrator for over two decades. Dr. Vangie also currently serves as an administrator in higher education managing and supporting the development of virtual PPS programs in school counseling and school psychology at a San Diego based university. Additionally Dr. Vangie previously sat on the San Diego County Mental Health Advisory Board.
Dr. Vangie was a double major at UCLA, receiving her Baccalaureate degrees in Psychology and African-American Studies before moving back to San Diego and receiving her Masters of Science and Pupil Personnel Services Credential in School Psychology National University. She has also secured a doctorate of psychology in educational psychology from Alliant International University. Dr. Vangie also possesses an Alcohol and Drug Counseling degree from National University. Her vocational experience has contributed to a vast knowledge in human development, psychological processing, cognition, consultation, group and individual counseling, psychological/educational assessment, special education law, specific learning disabilities, school neuropsychology, ADHD, anxiety, depression, emotional disturbances, Autism, low incidence disorders, alcohol/substance abuse, dual diagnosis and many other factors that may impair academic progression and social/emotional functioning.
