Participants in this session will review data driven strategies that boost metacognition and executive functioning for independent learners — i.e. the nuts and bolts of independent study: learning how to learn and staying organized. Participants will: 1. Explore AI tools like notebook LM that can support student understanding of content 2. Create developmentally appropriate executive functioning prompts that support student goal setting and individual coaching 3. Reflect on what makes a successful independent learner and how we as teachers can support the development of life long learning
