Manuel Escandon has been in education for 35 years, 20 of those years with Fresno County Superintendent of Schools (FCSS). He became Director of Child Welfare and Attendance (CWA) Department at the Fresno County Office of Education, August 2024. Prior to becoming Director of CWA, he served as a Director of the Student Equity and Empowerment Department and a Executive Leadership Coach. In the capacity of Director, he oversees the Truancy Intervention Program (TIP); Student Attendance and Review Board (SARB) county-wide; Inter-District Transfer and Expulsion Appeals for the FCSS Board of Education; Parent support to navigate the K-12 structure; and other prevention and intervention systems to maximize student success.
